Product & Science
How does red light therapy support testosterone? +
Red light therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of light — particularly 810nm — deep into tissue. These wavelengths are absorbed by the mitochondria in Leydig cells, the testosterone-producing cells in the testes. Mitochondria respond to near-infrared light by increasing ATP production — the cellular energy that supports natural testosterone synthesis. This mechanism is documented in peer-reviewed research, including a 2016 pilot study and a 2024 systematic review that found photobiomodulation supports testosterone levels in men with low baseline values.
Why does wavelength matter? +
Different wavelengths penetrate to different tissue depths and stimulate different biological processes. The Vitalux panels use 5 wavelengths studied in peer-reviewed research: 630nm (skin surface, nitric oxide support), 660nm (deeper cellular energy and vascular tissue), 810nm (deep tissue — the key wavelength for Leydig cell mitochondrial stimulation), 830nm (muscle recovery and inflammation), and 850nm (deep tissue repair). Many panels only include 660nm and 850nm, missing 810nm entirely — the wavelength most relevant for men's hormonal health.
What is the science behind the 10,000+ studies claim? +
Photobiomodulation (PBM) — the scientific term for red and near-infrared light therapy — is one of the most researched non-invasive health technologies available. PubMed lists over 10,000 peer-reviewed studies on PBM covering applications including testosterone support, muscle recovery, inflammation reduction, skin health, and cognitive function. A 2024 meta-analysis of 34 randomised controlled trials specifically confirmed significant improvements in muscle recovery markers.
Is red light therapy safe for daily use? +
Yes. Red and near-infrared light therapy has an extensive safety record supported by thousands of peer-reviewed studies. The Vitalux panels emit zero UV light and are CE certified. EMF output is 0.0μT at standard usage distance. The panels include a built-in timer and auto shut-off. Avoid looking directly into the LEDs during use — protective goggles are included with every panel.
What is the difference between the DL150 and DL300? +
Both panels share the same 5 wavelengths, dual-chip LEDs, built-in timer, Nogier frequencies, CE certification, and adjustable base bracket — included with both. The DL150 has 150 LEDs and 275W output, ideal for targeted sessions and most home users, at £379. The DL300 has 300 LEDs and 470W output, covering the full body in a single session, at £619. Most men start with the DL150. The DL300 is for those who want full-body coverage without repositioning.
Using Your Panel
Where should I position the panel? +
Stand facing the panel at 15–30cm distance, unclothed for maximum light penetration. 10 minutes facing forward, 10 minutes with your back to the panel. The DL150 and DL300 are both standing panels with an adjustable base bracket. For muscle recovery, face the relevant muscle groups toward the panel at the same distance.
How long should I use the panel each session? +
Most research protocols use 10 to 20 minutes per session, 3–5 times per week. Consistency matters more than session length — daily use over weeks produces more meaningful results than occasional longer sessions. The dose response flattens after 20 minutes, so more time does not mean more benefit.
How soon will I notice results? +
Results vary by individual. Most users report improved sleep quality first, typically within 2–3 weeks of consistent daily use. Energy and recovery improvements tend to follow at 4–6 weeks. For hormonal health, most research protocols run 8–12 weeks before measuring outcomes. Red light therapy works cumulatively — the longer and more consistently you use it, the more pronounced the effects.
What do the Nogier frequencies do? +
Nogier frequencies are specific pulse rates shown in research to enhance cellular response to light. The DL150 and DL300 have 7 pre-set Nogier frequencies built in — different frequencies are associated with different physiological responses. They are preset so you don't need to configure anything. Use the dimmer and timer controls to select your protocol each session.
Ordering & Delivery
Do you ship internationally? +
Yes. We ship worldwide via DDP air freight — duties are included, so there are no surprise charges at the door. UK delivery takes 8–15 working days. EU 9–15 working days, USA 7–13 working days, Australia 10–12 working days. All panels support 100–240V AC and work with any plug worldwide.
Will I be charged import duties or customs fees? +
No. All Vitalux orders ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). This means all import duties, taxes, and customs fees are included in the price you pay at checkout. There are no surprise charges when your panel arrives.
What is your returns policy? +
If you are not satisfied with your panel for any reason, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we will arrange a return and full refund — no questions asked. Panels must be returned in their original condition. Our 3-year warranty covers manufacturing defects. If your panel develops a fault within 3 years, we will replace it.
How do I track my order? +
You will receive a tracking number via email within 1–2 business days of placing your order. Use this to monitor your shipment through the carrier's website. If you have any questions about your delivery, contact us at hello@vitalux.health and we will follow up with the freight team.
What plug type does the panel use? +
All Vitalux panels come with a UK plug as standard and support 100–240V AC — compatible with any country's power supply. If you are ordering from outside the UK and need a different plug type, contact us at hello@vitalux.health before ordering and we will arrange the correct cable.
